This section is subject to continuous review and updating in order to ensure that the information provided remains accurate, comprehensive, and up to date.
The University Welcome Point is your primary point of contact for reception services and support with the main administrative procedures.

The Degree Programme in Business Consulting and Management is defined as bilingual, as it offers two distinct study tracks (curricula):
- Consulenza e Professione – a curriculum delivered entirely in Italian;
- International Management – a curriculum delivered entirely in English.
Students may choose the track that best aligns with their academic objectives and language proficiency. For further details on the structure of the study plan, please refer to the dedicated section of the website.
Yes. The Degree Programme is governed by an official Regulation that sets out the fundamental aspects of its academic organisation, the procedures governing teaching and learning activities, and the relevant regulatory provisions related to the study pathway.
The Regulation is available for consultation in the dedicated section of the website.
Admission to the Degree Programme requires a secondary school diploma obtained in accordance with current Italian regulations, or an equivalent qualification awarded abroad and officially recognised by the competent academic authorities.
Pursuant to Article 6, paragraph 1, of Ministerial Decree 270/2004, enrolment is subject to the assessment of the applicant’s initial preparation. This assessment is carried out through the TOLC CISIA test or another equivalent examination, as determined by the Degree Programme.
The Degree Programme Council publishes on the official website:
- the type of assessment required;
- the minimum score necessary to pass the assessment.
If the assessment is not successfully completed, students are assigned Additional Training Obligations (OFA), which must be fulfilled within the first year of study.
The procedures for addressing any gaps in initial preparation are outlined and regularly updated on the Degree Programme website.
Information regarding the TOLC and Additional Training Obligations (OFA) is available online in the dedicated section of the University portal.
If the Additional Training Obligations (OFA) are not completed within the prescribed deadlines, the student will be enrolled in the first year as a repeating student, in accordance with the applicable regulations and the Degree Programme Regulation.
Starting from the 2020/2021 academic year, the University of Messina has provided its students with access to the Rosetta Stone® Language Learning Software platform for the study and enhancement of foreign language skills. Students may access the platform in accordance with the procedures established by the University.
All relevant operational information is available on the dedicated page of the Department of Economics website.
Elective activities allow students to obtain university credits (ECTS) by successfully completing selected courses, in accordance with the regulations of the Degree Programme.
Specifically, students may select courses that:
- are offered by the University of Messina;
- belong to degree programmes of the same academic cycle;
- are chosen independently through the Esse3 online system or recognised among the academic activities eligible for this purpose.
The selected courses must be consistent with and complementary to the student’s study path.
For further details, please consult the section dedicated to the Study Plan, with reference to the relevant year of enrolment.
Yes. The request must be submitted to protocollo@unime.it, copying the Academic Office of the Department of Economics and the Degree Programme Coordinator.
The application must be drafted clearly and comprehensively, specifying the courses for which recognition is requested and indicating the correspondence between the examinations already completed and those included in the student’s study plan.
The following documents must be attached to the request:
- an official transcript of records;
- a valid identity document.
The Teaching Office will subsequently provide the necessary instructions to complete the procedure.
Please note that the recognition of ECTS credits is subject to approval by the Degree Programme Council, which generally meets on a monthly basis. It is therefore not necessary to resubmit the documentation within a short period, as repeated submissions may slow down the administrative process.
Teaching activities are carried out in accordance with the University Academic Calendar, which is structured into two teaching periods (semesters).
The full calendar, including the start and end dates of classes, is available in the section dedicated to the Class Timetable.
The courses to be attended are defined in the Degree Programme Study Plan and are structured by year of study and semester. Each year, all students enrolled at the University of Messina are required to complete or update their Study Plan by accessing their personal area on the Esse3 online system and selecting the “Study Plan” section.
For further information, please consult the section dedicated to the Study Plan on the Degree Programme website.
The class timetable is published in the Study section of the Degree Programme website, under Class Timetable.
At the University of Messina, examinations are graded on a scale of thirty (30/30). The minimum passing grade is 18/30.
